Product Review: Tecware Haste XXL Extended Mouse Mat



At a time where desktop users are wising up to the importance of a good mousepad, Tecware provides a reliable, good looking, and relatively inexpensive alternative to the plethora of high-end gaming mousepads out there.

Size Matters

This is not your traditional mousepad – it’s a mouse mat and it’s massive. Stretching 900 by 300mm, this pad covers easily the working half of your workbench. Its wide wingspan means that you don’t have to worry about running out of mouse space to manoeuvre over, particularly useful for someone who does a lot of design work or plays a lot of games.

Easily covers the length of your desk

What compliments its size well is the fact that it has a slightly waxy, water resistant finish on the top. For those who are in the habit of taking your food or drinks to your work station, this is a nice little feature that will appeal to you. Plus, the mat’s fully washable.

Quality

Edge-stitched frame, high density smooth fabric, and non-slip rubber base are just some of the characteristics you’d associate with a premium gaming mousepad and the Haste XXL Extended Mouse Mat has them all. There was not so much as a fibre out of place when I inspected the product which has imbued in me a good level of confidence in the brand (especially for a brand that I’ve only recently learnt of).



In addition, at 3mm thick, the mouse mat provides sufficient padding to make long sessions of work or play feel less strenuous on the wrist/forearm. However, to put things into perspective, you can probably say the same of most premium mousepads, but it’s noteworthy nonetheless.

Price

When you consider what the Haste XXL Mat is, you’ve got to compare it with the likes of the Razer Goliathus or the Corsair Gaming MM300/MM200 mouse mats. The mats, while comparable in features and built quality, differ greatest in price. Thus, when you’ve got a product that goes toe to toe with its competition but costs a third less, you’ve got a winner.


In conclusion, the Tecware Haste XXL Extended Mouse Mat is a solid mouse mat and one that you should consider if you’re looking for one that spans the length of your table (most tables at least).

Product Review: Beexcellent Pro Gaming Headset, GM-1

If you’re in the market for an entry-level gaming headset that is also good-looking flashy, you may want to consider the Beexcellent Pro Gaming Headset (GM-1), except, I won’t recommend it, even with its humble S$21.90 price tag. Comfortable but Dull  Earmuffs, these are not – but it doesn’t mean you won’t start feeling the heat after prolonged use. In terms of return-on-comfort, you will be getting more value than one would expect from a cheap gaming headset.
